THE OTHERLAND ARCHIPELAGE is a small continent in the South Est of the Second Life map consisting of some 150 regions. Those regions are not simply placed side by side. They follow a master plan, which controls the style of land, the climate and the vegetation. If you prefer a certain style of land or climate, please take a little time to find the right parcel for you (it is not possible, the buy a piece of land and than change it to a total different climate and vegetation).
On this page you will find an overview of the styles and climates available. These style govern the look of the land and also, what vegetation is preferred here. If not noted otherwise, the climate does not imply a specific style of building. Some of our land is "themed", though. In this case there are rules, governing the building style, too. These styles are marked with THEME below.
Please note, that we can deliver nearly any style of terrain in any climate of you chosing with our Free Float Regions. These are regions, which are not connected with the main landmass of Otherland. They are available on special order (smallest size is 65,000 sqm).
These islands in the south of THE OTHERLAND ARCHIPELAGO are themed "Maldives". The "real" Maledives", which inspired us to create these beautiful sims are a chain of small coral islands near the equator (in the vincinity of India). These are flat sandy coral islands with wide, falt beaches and a lush green vegetation. Most all of them are Large Area/low prim regions, where you get a lot of land for a very reasonable price - but with a limited prim capacity.

These islands can be found in the north west of THE OTHERLAND ARCHIPELAGO. Thea are similar to our 'Maldives' Islands but with a little more rugged terrain and a different vegetation (less palms, more eucalyptus).
They are non-themed, although we would love it, if you could keep your buildings in a mediterranean or in a tropical, south american or carribean style. All of these regions are Large Area/low prim, where you get a lot of land for a very reasonable price - but with a limited prim capacity.

Most of the main landmass of THE OTHERLAND ARCHIPELAGO is flat or slightly sloped grass land, usually situated at the sea or a lake or with a river flowing through it (yes, we do love water!). This is certainly not "tropical" beach land, like many residents like it). It is very beautiful, lush and green though, for all of you, who love a central european or north american (northern coasts) style.
This land is generally unthemed with very few exceptions. Most of it is classic full-prim land (offering 937 prims per parcel of 4096sqm).

Many people like islands in a tropical setting - but some love them with a more rough terrain and with a northern european or north american/canadian climate, too. If you are one of these people, please check out our regions to the east of Otherland's main land mass. You will find a lot of spectacular waterfront here, often with a rugged terrain, rocky beaches and some green, green grass between the beaches and the heights.
This land is generally unthemed. Some of it is classic full-prim land (offering 937 prims per parcel of 4096sqm), but we have a lot of Large Area/low prim land in this style, too, offering 1875 prims on a typical parcel of 32,000sqm.

In the North East of THE OTHERLAND ARCHIPELAGO you will find a large cluster of regions, which is themed "New England ". Buildings have to feature predominantly wooden structures on the outside. Victorian style is acceptable, as are typical New England style buildings and low slung houses in with reed roofs, like you can find them in Wales, Ireland, Northern Germany, the Netherlands and similar areas. No "contemporary modern" houses of steel and glass, no medieval castles, skyscrapers, no tree houses.
Some of the New England regions are Large Area/low prim regions, where you get a lot of land for a very reasonable price - but with a limited prim capacity. Some of the land is classic full-prim land (offering 937 prims per parcel of 4096sqm).

While most of the main landmass of THE OTHERLAND ARCHIPELAGO is flat or slightly sloped grass land, we do offer some alpine mountains, too. Just check out the regions called Irene, Zell, Pinswang and the surroundung regions.
This land is generally unthemed. Most of it is on Large Area/low prim regions, where you get a lot of land for a very reasonable price

Not all of our tropical islands are small and isolated patches in the middle of the ocean. In the far South West of THE OTHERLAND ARCHIPELAGO you will find Nomanisan Island, a huge (nearly) dormant vulcanoe, consisting of 3 x 3 regions of connected land. This is tropical land, thickly overgrown with palms and tropical flowers, but less flat and the rocky parts are from dark vulcanic stone.
Otherwise, this land is in the same style as the Maldives islands described above.
Some of this land is classic full-prim land (offering 937 prims per parcel of 4096sqm), but most of it is on Large Area/low prim regions, offering 1875 prims on a typical parcel of 32,000sqm.
